Why a translator built for Switzerland?

In Switzerland, you often get a letter from the commune, a note from your insurer or a client email in another national language. The big online translators handle German, French and Italian well, but Romansh is rarely well supported.

redswiss Translate is built for these five languages, with its own translation model run by redswiss: your text never goes through an external AI service.

What Translate does

Five languages

French, German, Italian, Romansh and English, in every combination.

Romansh included

Romansh (Rumantsch Grischun) is a full language of the tool, not an afterthought.

No account

Paste your text and translate. You only need an account to keep a history.

Personal history

When signed in, you can find your past translations and delete them at any time.

One-click swap

Swap the two languages to reply in the other person's language.

No third party

Translation runs on our own model, on our servers. Your text is never sent to an external AI provider.

Who is it for?

  • Individuals who receive mail in another national language
  • Freelancers and SMEs working with other language regions
  • Anyone who reads or writes Romansh

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes, translation is free and needs no account. Each text can be up to 2000 characters long.

How good are the translations?

Translate is a demo: its model is still being trained, and translations may contain mistakes. For a contract or an official document, have the result checked by someone fluent in the language.

Is my text stored?

Not without an account: the text is translated and then forgotten. With an account, your translations are kept in your history, and you can delete them.

Which Romansh is offered?

Rumantsch Grischun, the common written standard used notably by the canton of Graubünden and the Confederation. Regional idioms such as Sursilvan or Vallader aren't available yet.

Can I translate a Word or PDF file?

Not yet. Copy the text from the document and paste it into the tool.
